About TechnoBass.net
TechnoBass.net is an online magazine dedicated to electronic music and electronic music culture. Founded in 2002 by Starrie Williamson Weiser, aka Selekta Stjarna, it started off as a small website which featured exclusive live sets and DJ sets from underground artists all over the world.
In 2008, Santino Fernandez joined as lead writer and Editor-in-Chief. Over time, as technology evolved it evolved into different variations: social media network, discussion forum, and then eventually, a web zine with featured live music sets along with articles of record reviews, artist highlights, record label highlights, as well as interviews. In 2015 Chris Nexus Six joined as a writer while Starrie remained the webmaster.
In 2018, Santino Fernandez and Chris Nexus Six left the magazine to focus on their own online magazine - Electric Kingdom. Being that the hosting of music and the complex website hosting fees were more than Starrie could afford and both lead writers had abandoned the project (moving all of the content over to Electric Kingdom Magazine, Starrie took the website offline, although it was thankfully archived. A few years later, Electric Kingdom Magazine became defunct and the content went offline for a few years.
In 2024, after the passing of Santino Fernandez, Starrie brought the archived. website back online to preserve the extensive work that was done over its 20 years in existence.
The plan is to continue adding regular content to the site - such as artist highlights, record reviews, editorials and interviews with the top artists in the scene. We’ll see.
