AL355|0 - Presence In Absence

Body Control keeps on surprising us release after release! Following the very fresh and funky Jerry La Flim album at the end of 2014, the Atlanta based imprint goes insane with a dark six tracker limited CD from promising artist Alessio Bargiacchi aka AL355|0.

Having a long history in Dance music, Italy abounds in Electro and Techno talents, including Max Durante, T/Error, or Lory D just to name but a few. Alessio belongs to this new generation of wizards able to deliver not only gloomy but also very classy pieces of electronics.

On "Presence In Absence", he demonstrates some great potential behind his machines and introduces here what we could consider as a debut mini-album.

Ranging from Ambient to Electro, passing through acid and soulful Electronica, noir yet deep tracks are included on every part of this opus, the intention and atmosphere is undeniably pure darkness.

Beatless "A Strange Dream" opens the CD with menacing waves giving the sinister tone of the release. Lazy "Secret Desire" evolves into new territories, combining beautiful synth melodies to bleepy tones, while sweet drums drive the listener to its final destination "Heliopause".

Clinical "Pressure Point" coming next serves up a driving 4/4 cut with bell tower sounds and acidic loops in the background, perfect to titillate a crowd on the dancefloor before beginning a more aggressive set! Cold "Forever Lost" instantly following opens with a dark atmosphere over a relentless Electro rhythm but progressively moves into a heading jam full of soul.

Final cut "Altered Illusions" combines deep strings to urban layers turning this beautiful track, one of my favorites here, into a very emotional piece halfway between Ambient and Electro sub-genres.

The CD features a vibrant remix of "Hidden Signals" by Alessio and his friend T/Error, but this is not the first time both artists collaborate and appear together on the same release. On T/Error's essential "D7" album available since January on Bass Agenda Recordings, you'll find two insane reworks from the like of Alessio. Following his "Dark Path E.P." on Mexican label Aztlán in 2013, this newcomer from Roma demonstrates he's an undisputed force in Electronic Music. Highly recommended!
