Author of numerous digital releases and remarkable remixes for Tiga, Chilly Gonzales, Etienne De Crecy, Birdy Nam Nam, Boys Noize, Housemeister, Surkin, Strip Steve, Chromeo or Depeche Mode, Jeremy Cottereau aka Djedjotronic (BNRTRAX) returns to Boysnoize Records with his fourth E.P.
Deeply influenced by Warp Records and the Rave scene from the early 90's, the DJ and producer started writing music at the age of 17. Few years have passed and his discography has grown seriously since his debut release on BNR back in 2009.
With "Pleasure & Pain", the artist hailing from France but now living in Berlin offers a solid Electro sound tinted with German influences.
Featuring Miss Kittin (Nobody's Bizzness, NovaMute), the title track opens with nice synth melodies and whispers over a strong 808 line a la Dynamik Bass Systems before the voice of The Hacker's fellow in crime commands you to dance.
The original song comes complemented with four reworks, starting off with Djedjotronic's bubbling "Club Mix" based upon stripped out sororities, and some awesome loops of 303 laying in the background.
In remix duty, young French DJ and producer Strip Steve showcases his influences from Chicago to Cologne passing through Brussels, turning the original track into a dancefloor anthem with New Beat reminiscences.
Sidney located Jensen Interceptor (Space Factory, BNR) revisits "Pleasure & Pain" into a rough and hypnotic 4/4 tune, muting Miss Kittin's voice into something more male and disturbing.
Finally French duo Julien Mercier and Christophe Le Gall aka Glass Figure (Zone, Chamber404) concludes the E.P. with oldschoolish flavors over a synthetic Electro Funk bassline bringing you back to the 80's. Fresh and brilliant at the same time!
Eclectic "Pleasure & Pain" covers a large of panel of genres to fulfill any taste. Highly recommended!
