Fleck E.S.C - Nice Guy EP

After a remarkable appearance on Japanese Anti Gravity Device with the "Voodoo Modem E.P." last year, Franck Collin aka Fleck E.S.C. invests this month on Billy Nasty’s infamous UK Electrix Recordings.

The "Nice Guy E.P." sees the Tokyo based French activist delivering dancefloor oriented Electro weapons in his typical trademark characterized by refined synth programming, powerful beats, and effective bass tonalities.

Energizing "What We R Waiting 4" opens the A side with tough kicks, metallic pads and clinical melodies. An authentic funky track plundering the past as much as possible while staring at the future. Top notch!

The title track "Nice Guy" instantly following offers a tense Electro slaughter based upon darker lines, sparse yet heading vocals, bubbling synth distortions, and some old schoolish tones laying in the background. A monster tune with great potential, and a fantastic digest of Franck's horror, Sci-Fi and B-movies influences.

The flipside sees two heavyweight signatures revisiting "Nice Guy". London based Pip Williams (Shameless Toady, Binalog Productions) turns the original into a brilliant trippy Downtempo cut full of intricate and gloomy sororities, while the magical rework from legendary Carl Finlow (Electrix Recordings, Lost In Time) sounds a little more stripped back, with deeper synth flights over a robotic rhythm a la Kraftwerk. Brilliant!

The digital release comes completed with percussive "CTRL" and my favorite "OCP", two bonus cuts from Fleck E.S.C exploring doom ambiance with a sense of drama featuring Detroit melodies, urgent drums, and untouchable vocals.

Fleck E.S.C is an exciting addition to Billy Nasty's label and this "Nice Guy E.P." serves up another winner on Electrix Recordings. Congratulations!
